Syndicate of Sound & Synapse (SoSS) is a neuroscience-informed learning and cognitive wellness initiative applying sound, structure, and individualized instruction to support how people think, learn, and remain cognitively engaged across the lifespan.
SoSS focuses on alternative modes of learning and cognitive support, particularly for individuals who do not thrive within one-size-fits-all educational or clinical models.
Note: SoSS does not provide medical diagnosis or treatment.
What We Do
- Supplemental tutoring and instruction (K–12)
- Homeschool support, structure, and enrichment
- Enrichment for advanced, bored, or disengaged learners
- Music-based cognitive wellness sessions (non-clinical)
- Optional stress-pattern awareness and discussion (by request; non-diagnostic)
Who This Is For
- Students who feel bored, stuck, or misunderstood in conventional classrooms
- Learners who think in patterns, systems, or creative structures
- Adults seeking cognitive engagement and mental wellness
- Older individuals interested in music-supported cognitive connection
- Families seeking calm, individualized, non-clinical support
How It Works
A quick conversation to clarify goals, learning style, and what “success” should look like.
We establish a lightweight structure: session rhythm, focus areas, and a clear starting point. Nothing bloated — just what works.
Calm instruction and/or sound-supported engagement aimed at reducing friction and building traction. Adjusted as the learner changes.
Periodic check-ins to assess what’s improving and decide whether to continue, change pacing, or transition to independence.

Our Approach
SoSS emphasizes understanding over memorization, engagement over compliance, and calm, respectful instruction tailored to the individual.
Sound and music are used intentionally as tools for focus, regulation, and cognitive engagement — never as gimmicks.
SoSS does not provide medical diagnosis or treatment.
Who We Are
Syndicate of Sound & Synapse is structured as a learning and cognitive wellness lab-in-progress — focused on practical, real-world outcomes today while building a foundation for long-term brain health innovation.
The long-horizon scientific direction includes computational modeling and prevention-oriented thinking related to cognitive aging and neurodegeneration.
About the Founder
Syndicate of Sound & Synapse was founded by Michael Wheeldon, a state-authorized substitute teacher with a background in neuroscience, philosophy, and music.
Michael works at the intersection of learning, cognition, and sound — with a focus on how environment, stress, and engagement shape the brain across the lifespan.
